History
Caribit was founded in February 2005 by Lorenzo Valdambrini, a seasoned developer with extensive experience in software development and web technologies,
who saw the IT light shining at the end of the Antigua & Barbuda tunnel of possibilities.
Started as a small business, Caribit got its first real office in August 2005. Jobs with yachts and consultancy with local businesses had increased
significantly in December 2005. Ruth "Angi" Jarvis was hired as an office/shop assistant while Lorenzo was out for on-site work. Melville Michael also began
assisting Lorenzo for computer repairs and customer service. Since 2005 a lot has changed with Caribit.
In October 2006 Luke Pressley became part owner of the company, and became a "Limited" company, and together with Lorenzo expanded the technical support,
software/hardware installation, maintenance and infrastructure logistics side of the company. Caribit got a bigger office in order to improve the sales
and started working with several brands (Acer, D-Link, Hawking, Buffalo, Lexar and more) importing equipment from USA and Europe.
In February 2007, Marcel Lapierre Armande joined the team, at first as a sales and marketing consultant, and as of November of 2007 as a shareholder in Caribit.
2007 being a very active year, saw another addition to the Caribit team in March when Faun Thompson was hired as Lorenzo's assistant in the
development division. The structure of the premises changed once again, now there is a shop/internet cafe, a laboratory dedicated to repairs and a
main office for the management.
At present Caribit Ltd. is composed by a group of professional technicians who are able to assist customers with almost any kind of IT inquiry, from repairs to
sales, from web development to specialized services such as internet security video recording or networking on yachts. |
